Publishing, your app's address and exporting

Publishing. When your app is ready, click Publish in the Studio header. It deploys your app and shows Your app is live! with the link, a copy button, and a QR code. Your app is published at its own hamish.app address (for example your-app.hamish.app). This is also where real connections and in-app AI features start working.

  • Your app's address: every app gets a hamish.app subdomain. You can choose it in the Publish panel in the Studio header, under Your app's address (type a name, it becomes your-name.hamish.app, then Save).
  • Custom domains (your own domain name) are not available. Your app is served at its hamish.app subdomain.
  • Number of published apps by plan: Free 1, Member 3, V-Plus 10, V-Pro unlimited.
  • Renaming and the browser tab: if you rename your app after publishing, the name in the browser tab of the live site updates the next time you publish; until then the live site keeps its current title.

Preview link or address? They are different things. The link at the top of the Publish panel is a preview link, for testing your app on your phone with the QR code. It expires 7 days after you last published; re-deploying resets the clock, but building on its own does not. Your hamish.app address is the permanent one, and it is the one to share.

Unpublishing. To take an app off its address, click Publish in the Studio header and use Unpublish next to the address. Your site stops serving there, the address goes back in the pool for anyone to claim, and the published-app slot returns to your plan allowance. Your preview link stops working too, so the app is fully off the web. Your app and its build are kept exactly as they are, so you can republish at any time.

Exporting your code. On a paid plan (Member and up), open the ... menu on your app's Dashboard card and choose Export as .zip to download your app's files plus a README. It is yours to host elsewhere, back up, or hand to a developer. No lock-in: your platform, your rules. On the Free plan this option shows as "Export: Member+" and links to the plans page.
