Publishing, hosting and your app's address
How do I make my app live?
Click Publish in the Studio header. It deploys your app and shows Your app is live! with the link and a QR code. Your app is published at its own hamish.app address (for example your-app.hamish.app).
How does my app get its name?
If you give your business or project a name during planning, your app uses it. If you have not named it yet, Hamish uses your plan's title so your app always has a sensible name from the start. You can rename it at any time, and the name you choose is what visitors see in their browser tab once your app is published. A published app never shows a placeholder title to a visitor.
Can I use my own domain name?
Custom domains are not available. Every app is published at a hamish.app address, and you can choose the subdomain in the Publish panel in the Studio header.
Can I download or back up my app?
Yes, on a paid plan. On the app's Dashboard card, open the ... menu and choose Export as .zip. It is yours to keep, host elsewhere, or hand to a developer. No lock-in. (On the Free plan this shows as "Export: Member+".)
Can Hamish host and run my app for me?
Yes, in two ways. Every Studio app gets automatic hosting when you publish, at its hamish.app address, at no extra cost - that is part of Studio. If you want managed hosting - managed infrastructure with real support behind a live, growing app, your own environment, monitoring, and a team watching it - that is Hamish Production, available today. See the Subscriptions page and contact us, and we will set it up with you.
What products does Hamish offer?
Hamish Studio builds and publishes your app by chat. Hamish Compass plans your project before you build - free to talk, and it hands Studio a step-by-step build plan. Hamish Production is managed infrastructure with real support for live, growing apps, available today from the Subscriptions page. Hamish Momentum, marketing and growth help, is in development.
